Creations In Glass of Laporte, Indiana produces high
quality novelty glass gifts and collectables of
Pyrex brand borosilicate tubing and rod. Laporte
is located in the far N.W. corner of Indiana near the tip of
Lake Michigan, 60 miles E. of Chicago Illinois.

Gardner and wife Carolyn Gardner have been formally
in business for 24 years. Combined with high artistic
quality work and the knowledge available from the long
association with the ASGS (American Scientific
Glassblowing Society) Creations In Glass produces
dazzling works of art either in production work or custom work
that captures attention and respect in the skill of
lampworking (the technical term used for this type of glass
work).
Lamp work
commonly referred to as glassblowing is the process of melting
glass over a forced flame. This was done in early days by using
a bellows to force air to produce a hotter flame. Examples of
this type of work exist in the Museum of Art in Chicago dating
back as far as 700 BC. Now the modern glass artist uses
a propane and oxygen torch with many sizes of tips to produce a
2000-degree flame to melt the hard borosilicate glass. Al
twists and turns, bends and burns this hard glass using his
talents to amaze the public and his peers.

applied to create beautiful long lasting color to the dazzling
clarity of our creations. Trimmed by hand with 22-karat gold or
platinum these works of glass can quickly become a favored
